DAY01
Beijing |
Arrive in
Beijing. Check in. Visit Temple of Heaven, which is also known
as Tiantan park. |
DAY02
Beijing |
Depart for the
Tiananmen Square in the morning. Visit Tiananmen Square and the
Forbidden City. Have a lunch break. After lunch, visit the
Summer Palace. Enjoy this famous imperial park. Return to your
hotel. |
DAY03
Beijing/Datong |
The guide will
meet you at the hotel. Depart for the Badaling Great Wall. Walk
along the Great Wall for about 2 hours. After lunch go to the
Ming Tomb and visit. Wanli’s Tomb. We shall board the overnight
train to Datong, the second largest city in Shanxi province. |
DAY04
Datong |
Upon arrival,
you will be transferred to the hotel. After breakfast in the
hotel, travel to the Yungang Grottos consisting a series of 53
caves. Afterwards, you will visit the Nine Dragon Wall that
probably is the largest of its kind in China. Later you will
visit the Huayan Temple. The Upper Huayan Monastery is
considered to be one of the two biggest Buddhist halls existent
in China. |
DAY05
Datong / Taiyuan |
Drive to Tai
Yuan, the capital of Shanxi Province. Upon arrival, you will
meet your guide and be transferred to the hotel. |
DAY06
Taiyuan / Pingyao |
Drive to Ping
Yao in the morning. Tour to the Ping Yao Old Town. Paralleling
Xian, Nanjing and Lijiang, Pingyao is one of time-honored cities
that have survived with its ancient walls, a best example from
the Ming Dynasty. In Nov. 1986, UNESCO subscribed the city into
the World Heritage List in China. Afterwards you can also visit
the famous Qiao Family Mansion built in 1755 and the Double
Forest Temple that houses over 2,000 Buddhist terracotta
sculptures |
DAY07
Taiyuan / Xian |
Today you will
visit the Jinci Temple with its ancient gardens and historical
relics. In the afternoon take overnight soft-sleeper train to
Xian. |
DAY08
Xian |
You will enjoy a
full-day excursion to the incredible life-size Terracotta
Warriors and Horses. After lunch, visit the Ancient City Walls
and then the Bell Tower. |
DAY09
Xian/Beijing |
After breakfast,
you will have city tour to the Shaanxi Province Museum and the
Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Return to Beijing |
DAY10
Beijing/Exit |
Depart for the
airport and say goodbye. |
